Brake tapes
Brake band is a woven belt composed of ceramic yarns with very fine elementary fibres reinforced with a brass wire. This wire has the function of mechanical reinforcement and dissipation of friction heat from the working zone. The special multi-layer weave prevents the lining from delaminating under high loads during braking. Soaking such a woven strip in a high-quality composition of natural and synthetic resins results in a reliable and highly homogenous friction material. The friction lining we offer is asbestos-free, which makes it safe and health-friendly. Key benefits are: very high mechanical resistance, stable coefficient of friction, long service life. APPLICATION: Woven brake bands are mainly used in heavily loaded drum brakes, cranes, hoisting winches, lifts, gantries, etc. This material is meant for drum brakes of heavy machines where high braking forces and increased temperature are required during operation and where high reliability of the friction material is necessary. As a standard, it can be mounted to a metal surface by riveting, or by studding and gluing in the case of a wooden surface.
